Find the “gain” or “input” knob on your amplifier, interface, or mic. In the vast majority of cases, the gain setting is to blame for static noise. Hope you get your problems fixed as well, please add any other methods that worked out for you as well.Lower the gain on your amp, audio interface, or mic to remove static. I tried different devices but the problem persisted.Īnd then I came across the extension "Disable Automatic Gain Control"Īfter I had this extension added this seemed to solve my issue and now I don't have any volume spikes to worry about I figured out that my issue was when I used google meet, I thought that Chrome was the issue but other browsers had the same issue. On the left side theres additional device properties, Click that Scroll down to input and click on device properties (make sure the input device selected is your microphone) The slider moves when i talk and the microphone catches stuff i say and couldnt find what was wrong. So I've had this problem for a while where my input volume changes on its own.
